Chinese Culture Promotion Unit
Roles and responsibilities:
- As promoting the Chinese culture is one of the founding missions of the school, the Unit strives to ensure that promotion of the Chinese culture remains an important school programme with a whole school approach.
- Taking Chinese culture as a broad but unitary study area, the Unit identifies applicable practices, categorizes them and provides them for subject departments to apply as they may think appropriate.
- The Unit plans and carries out school-wide Chinese culture promotion programmes, including organizing cultural visits locally or to Mainland China and cultural exchanges with local or Mainland counterparts, planning events for greater exposure to Chinese culture, and the implementation of the Tin Ka Ping Chinese Culture Award Scheme. With the collaboration from the subject departments through relevant teaching and learning, the Unit also attempts to broaden students' perspective and nurture noble-minded young scholars. With students' knowledge about the Chinese culture enhanced, Chinese culture will be broadly transmitted and deepened.
- Oversee the implementation of all the Chinese culture promotion programmes.
